The Western Cape is famous as wine-producing area, and Stellenbosch in particular is at the heart of the winelands. On the evening of Thursday, 25 May, we will be doing a wine-tasting at the neighbouring  Kleine Zalze estate, followed by dinner at the Terroir restaurant (also on the estate). Dress: smart casual.

On Friday 26 May, our conference banquet is at Moyo, on the Spier estate - essentially next door to the conference centre. The theme at Moyo is contemporary African, and there will be live music to entertain us during the buffet dinner. Dress: smart casual. Note that Moyo is an open-air venue; there are marquee tents, with heaters, but bring something warm along in case the evening turns cold - it will be mid-autumn. This event is sponsored by EM Software & Systems-S.A. (Pty) Ltd, South Africa.

On Saturday 27 May, the post-conference tour will take us down the scenic Cape Peninsula. If weather permits, the first stop will be at the Table Mountain cable car, which will take us up the summit for unforgettable views, otherwise we will go to Lion's Head for a panoramic view of the city. The next stop will be Hout Bay. Following this, we head for the Cape Point Nature reserve, and head down to the Point. This is southernmost part of the Peninsula (although not Southern Africa). This is a full day tour; we will not be back at the hotel until the late afternoon, and delegates would be advised to stay at the conference hotel at Spier for the Saturday evening as well. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, since there is some walking involved.

The cost of all these events is included in the registration fee for delegates. For accompanying persons, payment is required, as indicated on the registration form.
